Happy Thanksgiving!

After finishing the prep last night for one of the biggest meals of the year, I realized just how lucky (and happy) I am to have a partner that I have the pleasure of cooking side by side with.  It may just be the two of us on this Thanksgiving in California but the pleasure of the meal and the company is no less than if we had our whole clan here with us.

I am taking a break from cooking now, listening to Stuart McLean's Vinyl Cafe and watching the moisture drip down the living room window.  I hope you all have a wonderful meal today and that you take pleasure in your good company.

Thanksgiving Prep 2010

  1. i made carrot and ginger soup. jason made the world's most ridiculous macaroni and cheese. we're heading to a big family celebration so everyone kind of brings a dish or two and we all feast!

  2. Jess & Rob your menu sounds wonderful. I especially like your choice of deserts. I think the most unusual thing we made this year was the lobster bisque soup and my turkey gravy. I pureed the roasted vegtables from the turkey pan and added them to gravy. I then added a plum sauce I had in freezer from this summers bounty and added that to gravy. It had tons of diffent flavors that danced beautifully together.
